Stay tuned as we delve into the details of this exciting ride. Discover what makes it a must-visit for families, Disney enthusiasts, and fans of Princess Tiana alike.
What is Tiana's Bayou Adventure?
Tiana's Bayou Adventure is a fresh addition to Disney's lineup of attractions. It's inspired by the animated film "The Princess and the Frog." The ride features Princess Tiana, Disney's first African American princess, and takes place where the film left off. Imagine it is 1927, and Princess Tiana has just opened Tiana's Foods, her new business! As guests enter the attraction queue, they will learn more about Tiana's Foods, an employee-owned cooperative built in an aging salt mine. Together with her talents, Tiana and her team bring culinary delight to the local community.
Guests will drift down the Louisiana bayou aboard their logs as familiar faces join them on an adventure as everyone prepares for a one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras celebration. Disney fans may recognize that the attraction's track is similar to the old flume path of Splash Mountain. Yet, there are many changes that will delight guests, including new animatronics featuring the loving alligator Louis, Mama Odie, and Charlotte La Bouff (Lottie).
Along the way to the celebration, guests will encounter over 15 new critter friends who make Zydeco sounds in their bayou band.
Let's learn about the critters:
Timoléon - A fiddle-playing Otter, and the eldest member of the band
Rufus - This turtle loves adventures and is the band's harmonica player
Gritty - A high-energy rabbit who plays the Washboard (an automobile license plate)
Apollo - A Squeezebox-playing Raccoon
Beau - An opossum who loves plucking low notes on her upright gourd bass
Byhalia - This beaver is the heartbeat of the band, a crafty engineer, and a percussionist
Claude - Meet Claude, a Louisiana black bear who plays the horn
Sebastian - He may be a baby bear but he sure does have rhythm playing alongside his father Claude
Bernadette - The band wouldn't be complete without Bernadette, a Louisiana black bear who plays the horn just like her mate Claude
Phina - If you hear drums, you're listening to the music of Phina, an optimistic gray fox
Octavia - This bobcat plays the vaksin, a single-note horn instrument
Pawpaw - Octavia's grandfather Pawpaw is another vaksin playing bobcat
Mayra - A frog who plays a flower blossom trumpet
Mondo - A copacetic flog that plays the conga drums
Isabel - Meet Isabel, a green tree frog who also plays the congas
Felipe - The band's leader, Felipe is a frog who makes magical sounds on the piano
This Mardi Gras celebration wouldn't be complete without pictures. Get ready to smile as the critters direct you down a shortcut to the party. But be prepared for the 50-foot drop because you may get wet! We recommend wearing a rain poncho or other gear to keep you dry as you drop in on the party.
