I consider myself a die-hard Disney fan. So naturally, I get defensive when critics question the company's agenda and capabilities. On the company's Q3 fiscal 2023 earnings call, one analyst asked how the company plans to improve the performance of original content. Thankfully, Bob Iger is at the helm of the ship again as CEO of the Walt Disney Company and can answer such questions with grace and just the right amount of insight forecasting the magic in store. Yes, there have been some recent decisions made by The Walt Disney Company that have been hard to agree with, such as Iger's cost-cutting strategy which included staff reductions. However, I still believe in Iger. Having started his own career at ABC in 1974, he knows the company's brand and carries a passion for Disney that Walt himself would appreciate. Although it will take some time, Iger can turn the ship around and make The Walt Disney Company highly celebrated again. It's evident already considering this year's exciting movies such as The Little Mermaid and The Haunted Mansion. Box office numbers aside, these recent films carry the Disney themes, adventure, and storylines that fans like myself have come to expect. So what is next for The Walt Disney Company? The answer is loaded.
Unveiling the Cinematic Journey
Take a look at the list of upcoming theatrical releases for The Walt Disney Company from September 2023 thru the summer of 2024.

The Walt Disney Company is a powerhouse with brands such as 20th Century, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Searchlight. With these brands, the company is able to reach a broad range of audiences. A Haunting in Venice releases next month as the prequel to the mystery/crime movie, Death on the Nile. Pixar plans to release a prequel of the popular Inside Out film on June 14th, 2024.
Live-Action Dreams and Nostalgia
I've enjoyed the live-action remakes of classic Disney films, such as Beauty & The Beast and Cinderella. Yet, Snow White debuted in 1937 as Walt Disney's first princess, so there are great expectations from me for the live-action version to be released next March.
Another promising franchise not listed is Avatar. The first film was released in 2009, and its sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water released in 2022 and almost doubled the box office performance of the first. Fans will have to wait until 2025 for the third film followed by the fourth release in 2029. However, if the next two movies are anything like the others, they will be worth the wait.
Disney+ Magic
One of my favorite new additions to The Walt Disney Company is Disney+. For years, I wished there was one platform similar to Netflix where I could conveniently enjoy watching all of my favorite Disney movies online whenever I wanted. When Disney+ launched on November 12th, 2019 my wish was granted. Now, months after a theatrical release, The Walt Disney Company will add some movies to Disney+, making it simple for fans to rewatch movies they enjoyed in theaters or enjoy them for the first time as a subscriber. Some of this year's blockbuster hits will be released soon on Disney+; see the list below.
