Unveiling the Next Chapter: A Ghoulish Expansion Beckons
Disneyland's Haunted Mansion is iconic. This spooky attraction can also be experienced at Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland but the original is like no other and in 2024 the grounds of Haunted Mansion at Disneyland will expand with new additions.
A Journey Through the Haunted Past
The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland opened its doors to guests on August 9th, 1969, and since then has become one of Disney's most popular attractions. Filled with over 109 animatronics, the Haunted Mansion captivates audiences in doom buggies as they explore haunts in a 6-8 minute attraction. As the tale goes, the mansion was once owned by a sea captain who eventually killed his bride and then hung himself inside the home. Today, the mansion is maintained by the happy haunts inhabiting it. Although I've experienced the ride countless amount of times, I'm still scared every time I step inside the mansion's doors. In January 2024, Disney will commence a new phase of the Haunted Mansion by expanding the grounds and adding a new retail shop featuring Madame Leota Clarivoyant's touch.
A New Chapter Unfolds for Haunted Mansion in 2024
The transformation will feature an expanded outdoor queue with gardens which will immerse guests into stories featuring Master Gracey and Madame Leota. From a new water fountain to a new gazebo and greenhouse, there will be much more to explore including familiar areas such as the pet cemetery and horse-drawn hearse.
Disney has done a great job with the Haunted Mansion enterprise. The attraction is always a highlight of the parks during the October festivities and now with the recent blockbuster film based on the ride, the story of the popular attraction is available for all to experience even if they haven't ridden it before.
