Magic Kingdom Resort Area Hotels
Staying near Magic Kingdom can completely change the pace of your trip. These resorts give you quicker access to the park, easier midday breaks, and some of the most iconic views at Walt Disney World. Each one offers a different experience, so the right choice really comes down to how you like to travel.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Best for: Walking to Magic Kingdom + modern feel
This is the only resort where you can reliably walk to Magic Kingdom in just a few minutes. The monorail also runs directly through the building, so transportation is about as easy as it gets. The overall style is more modern compared to other Disney resorts.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Best for: Luxury + close proximity
This is Disney’s most classic deluxe resort, with a quieter and more polished feel. You’re one monorail stop from Magic Kingdom, and there’s also a walking path that takes about 10–15 minutes depending on your pace.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Best for: Atmosphere + dining + location
This resort is known for its strong theming and some of the most popular dining on property. You have monorail access to Magic Kingdom, boat transportation, and easy access to EPCOT by walking to the Transportation and Ticket Center.
Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
Best for: Newer accommodations
This newer addition offers updated rooms and layouts while keeping the same access to transportation and location benefits as the Polynesian.
Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Best for: Cozy, low-key atmosphere
This section of Wilderness Lodge has a more rustic and quiet feel. It’s a good option if you want something calm after busy park days while staying in the same location.
​Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
Best for: Space + outdoor experience
This is the most spread-out resort in the area. Guests can stay in cabins, RV sites, or campsites. Transportation to Magic Kingdom is available by boat or bus, but it takes longer than the resorts closer to the park.
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Best for: Extra space with the same location
This is the villa side of the Contemporary, with larger rooms that work well for families or longer stays. You still have the same walking path to Magic Kingdom and access to all the main resort amenities.
The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Best for: Luxury with more flexibility
These villas give you the same Grand Floridian location and atmosphere, just with more space and room options for longer stays.
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
Best for: Unique stays + larger groups
These rooms are designed for space, especially for families. The overwater bungalows are one of the most unique accommodations at Disney, while the villas give you a more flexible layout with the same Polynesian location.

Best for: A quieter, nature-inspired stay
​This resort feels completely different from the others, with a design inspired by national park lodges. Transportation to Magic Kingdom is mainly by boat, which is scenic and relaxing, but typically takes longer than walking or the monorail.
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Best for: Updated lodge experience
These villas are more modern in design compared to Boulder Ridge. The cabins along the water are a unique option if you’re looking for something different from a standard hotel room.
